You are bloger, and your blog is on many directorys. You have few directory buttons on your blog. Now, problem is they are all open in same window, so you have feeling they are stealing you visitours. Answer is simple.

blogspot blog on SERP
It was intrigated to me, what blog hosted on free Bloggines is first among results on Google SERP for "
blog". On page
Results 21 - 30 of about 2,090,000,000 for blog there was
dear_raed.blogspot.com . That was the best result. So, why is it? What are factors? First, I saw that blog started in 2002. Aha. That have sense. Blog is old. That must be respected. And in last 4 years, there must be lot of content. That is another important factor, that's for shore.
Than, I searched on Wikipedia for this blog. And I found this:
Salam Pax (aka Salam Al-Janabi) (Salam is Arabic and Pax is Latin for "peace") is a pseudonymous blogger from Iraq whose site "Where is Raed?" (see external links) received notable media attention during (and after) the 2003 invasion of Iraq. On this blog stats, http://extremetracking.com/open;ref2?login=salampax you can see most traffic came from websites, not from Searchengines. And mostly from Iraq sites, or Iraq related sites. So, this blog is very relevante for Iraq informations.

Updating blog
Update your blog everyday. That's very important, since Search engines will see that changes, and will treat your blog like important. Other way is to enable coments on your blog, and when someone write coment on your blog, whole blog will be updated in some way. And SE's will notice that. So, bloggers, don't let SE see same blog in next visit.

Blog with niche
Chose your niche. If you're sports fan, better is to write about one sport aspect. Chose niche like "football" or even better "spanish football" or just one club. "70's football" for example is nice niche. Or, if you like computers, think what you know more about - software or hardware. Then, go more precisious. Chose "hard discs" or "java programing" or "blogging" like me :) . That way, you will get more visitours and readers coming againg, every few days to your blog, not just passing by readers. Also, that way you will get more relevant ads if you run Adsense on your blog.
Removing navbar from the top
Some blogers want to remove navbar from the top of blog. If you want to do that, just put this code:
between STYLE tags
I am not doing that on my blogs, because that bar can bring you more traffic, and have option for readers to search blog, but if you like, you can move it. That can be done without violating terms on Blogger.
Previous posts links
If your blog template have no Previous Posts in the side bar, you can include it yourself. It is good, because that way, many of your posts will have inbound links from blog index page, and will improve SERP.
